What your certificate lists

Certificate of completion

  • Program title
  • Dates attended
  • Total contact hours 15
  • Topics covered
  • Facilitator’s name and license number

Completing the program

  • Complete all 10 classes.
  • Attendance is recorded when you sign in and when you sign out.
  • Arriving more than 10 minutes late or leaving more than 10 minutes early counts as a missed class.
  • Make up a missed class in a $25 make-up session, or by attending that class with the next group at no extra cost. What you paid for the missed class covers the make-up.

Who the classes are for

Parents join with a referral from family court, CPS, or probation, or with no referral at all. Nobody is asked to explain why they’re there.

These classes are parent education, not therapy.

For attorneys, social workers, and probation officers

With the participant’s signed consent, referring parties receive:

  • Enrollment confirmation with the cohort start date
  • Attendance records
  • Written progress reports, weekly or on request
  • The certificate of completion
  • Prompt notice of withdrawal or attendance concerns

The class includes no assessment, diagnosis, or treatment. Completion is not an evaluation of parenting capacity, and it is not a custody or placement recommendation. If a participant seems to need clinical care, the facilitator provides referral information.

To refer a parent, or to request the referral packet, full curriculum outline, a sample progress report, or a sample certificate, call (209) 209-5470 or email info@relievecounseling.com. See also the program details for professionals.

More about the classes

Common questions

Will this meet my court, CPS, or probation requirement?

The court or agency that referred you decides that, and acceptance varies by court, county, and case type. Please confirm with your attorney, caseworker, or probation officer before you enroll.

Relieve Counseling is not a certified or court-designated program provider. Acceptance of this program toward a case plan or court order is determined by the referring agency or court.

What gets shared with my caseworker, attorney, or the court?

Only what you agree to in writing: your enrollment, attendance records, progress reports, and certificate. The release form in your welcome email spells out what is shared and with whom. Signing it is your choice, and it’s reviewed aloud in class 1.

The same form explains Roselia’s duties as a mandated reporter, which are separate from what you agree to share.

How does payment work?

Classes are $75 each, paid as you go. When you sign up, you choose one of two ways to pay:

  • Autopay: your card is charged $75 the day before each class.
  • Email link: Square emails you a $75 pay link the day before each class. Pay before class starts. An unpaid class counts as a missed class.

Everyone saves a card when signing up, for any $25 make-up session. Nothing is charged at sign-up, and charges stop after your 10 classes. Payments are handled by Square, and your card details are never stored on this website.

What if I miss a class or run late?

You need all 10 classes for the certificate. Arriving more than 10 minutes late or leaving more than 10 minutes early counts as a missed class. Attendance is recorded at sign-in and sign-out.

What you paid for a missed class isn’t lost. It covers your make-up. Make it up in a $25 make-up session on Zoom, or join the same class with the next group at no extra cost. New groups start about every 10 weeks.

Please call (209) 209-5470 before class if you’ll miss it.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

You can leave the program at any time, and your remaining classes aren’t charged. For a class that has already been charged:

  • Cancel more than 24 hours before it starts: full refund for that class.
  • Cancel less than 24 hours before it starts: 50% refund for that class.
  • Once a class has begun: no refund for that class.

Full details are in the Participant Agreement.

What do I need to join on Zoom?

A phone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection. We send you the Zoom link when your spot is confirmed.

Can I stop by the office?

No. The office at 615 13th Street, Suite B4 is open by appointment only and can’t take walk-ins. Classes, sign-up, and payment all happen online or by phone. Call (209) 209-5470 or sign up below.

Does finishing say anything about my custody case?

No. Your certificate shows that you completed the program. It is not a parenting evaluation, and it is not a custody or placement recommendation.

Is anything kept on file about me?

Your enrollment, your attendance, your payment records, the Participant Agreement you accept when you sign up, and any release form you sign. There are no diagnosis or treatment notes, because the classes include no assessment, diagnosis, or treatment.
