If you have Aetna or Optum
Roselia is in network with Aetna and Optum. What you pay for each session depends on your plan: your copay or coinsurance, and whether you have met your deductible.
Questions to ask your plan
Call the member services number on your insurance card and ask:
- Is Roselia M. Ortega, LCSW, in network for my plan?
- What do I pay for an outpatient mental health visit? Plans sometimes call this behavioral health.
- Do I have a deductible, and how much of it is left?
- Are video visits covered the same way as office visits?
- Do I need a referral or prior approval?
If you have another plan
We do not accept Kaiser. For other plans, Roselia can give you a superbill: a detailed receipt listing the date, the service, and the fee. You can send it to your insurance company to ask about out-of-network reimbursement. Whether your plan pays, and how much, is up to the plan.
Questions to ask your plan
- Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health?
- What percentage do you reimburse, and is there a separate deductible?
- How do I submit a superbill?
If you pay for yourself
Sessions are $150 each, the same for in-person and video. You receive a Good Faith Estimate of your expected costs when you schedule, and you can ask for one anytime.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate and the bill.

Common questions
Is the consultation free?
Yes. It’s a 15-minute video call, in English or Spanish, with no charge and no commitment. You can ask about fees, insurance, and scheduling, and get a sense of whether working with Roselia feels like a fit.
Do video sessions cost the same as office sessions?
Yes. The self-pay fee is $150 either way. With insurance, ask your plan whether video visits are covered the same way.
What is a superbill?
A detailed receipt you can send to your insurance company to ask for out-of-network reimbursement. It lists the date, the service, and the fee. Your plan decides whether to reimburse and how much.
Do you accept Kaiser?
No. We do not accept Kaiser. Kaiser members can still see Roselia at the self-pay rate of $150 per session.
