Before you enroll: Referral acceptance varies by court, county, and case type. Please confirm with your attorney, caseworker, or probation officer that this class and its certificate meet your specific requirement before enrolling.

How it works, step by step

  1. Check with the person who referred you. Ask your attorney, caseworker, or probation officer whether this program fits your requirement. You can share the facts above, or give them this page.
  2. Sign up online and choose your group. English meets on Wednesdays and Spanish on Thursdays. Nothing is charged when you sign up.
  3. Decide whether you want us to send updates. Your welcome email includes an optional release form. If you want us to send updates to the person who referred you, fill it out and send it back, before class 1 if you can.
  4. Attend all 10 classes. Join on time with your camera on. Make up any class you miss.
  5. Receive your certificate of completion. When you finish all 10 classes, you get a certificate. If your release form allows it, we also send it to the person you named.

What gets shared, and what never does

Shared only with your written permission

The release form lets you choose one person and the items they receive:

  • Enrollment confirmation with your start date
  • Your attendance record and total hours
  • Written progress reports, weekly or only when asked
  • Your certificate of completion
  • Notice if you miss a class or leave the program

Signing it is your choice. If you don’t sign it, we send nothing to anyone, and you can give your certificate to your caseworker yourself.

Never shared

  • What you say in class, or write in activities and worksheets
  • Anything about other parents in the class
  • Opinions about your parenting
  • Recommendations about custody, visitation, placement, reunification, or your case

One thing the release form doesn’t change

Roselia is a mandated reporter. The law requires her to report a reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect, whether or not you sign the release form. This applies to everyone in the class.

Attendance rules for your certificate

  • All 10 classes are required.
  • Attendance is recorded when you sign in and when you sign out.
  • Arriving more than 10 minutes late or leaving more than 10 minutes early counts as a missed class.
  • If you pay by email link, a class that isn’t paid by start time counts as missed.
  • Make up a missed class in a $25 make-up session, or by attending that class with the next group at no extra cost.

Plan for your deadline. The program takes at least 10 weeks, and a missed class can add time. New groups start about every 10 weeks.

What your certificate shows

  • Your name and the program title
  • The dates you attended
  • Total contact hours: 15
  • The topics covered
  • The facilitator’s name and license number

It shows that you completed the program. It is not a parenting evaluation, and it is not a custody or placement recommendation.

Common questions

Is this program approved by the court?

No court or agency has approved or designated this program. The court or agency that referred you decides whether it meets your requirement, so please confirm with your attorney, caseworker, or probation officer before you enroll.

They can call (209) 209-5470 or read the program details for professionals.

Do I have to tell the class why I’m there?

No. Nobody is asked to explain why they’re there. Parents with and without a referral take the same class together.

Can my caseworker get updates without my permission?

Only where the law requires it, such as a court order or a mandated report. Otherwise, updates go only to the person you name on the release form, and only the items you check.

Do I need to send my court or CPS paperwork?

No, please don’t. We don’t need your case file to run the class or to send the updates you choose.

My order lists a different number of hours.

This program is 15 contact hours over 10 classes. Ask your attorney, caseworker, or probation officer whether that fits your requirement before you enroll.

What does it cost?

$75 per class, or $750 for all 10, paid as you go the day before each class. Nothing is charged when you sign up. Make-up sessions are $25. Full terms are in the Participant Agreement.

Can I take the class in Spanish?

Yes. The Thursday group is taught in Spanish. Lea esta página en español.

These classes are parent education, not therapy.
