How video sessions work
- Scheduling, intake forms, and video sessions go through SimplePractice, the practice’s secure client portal.
- You join from a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a steady internet connection.
- You need a private place where you won’t be overheard. Headphones help.
- Fees are the same as in-person sessions. If you use Aetna or Optum, what you pay depends on your plan.
- Confidentiality works the same way as in the office, including the exceptions the law requires.
You need to be in California
Roselia is licensed in California, so you must be physically in California during each video session. If you’ll be traveling out of state, let her know ahead of time so you can reschedule.
Video or in person
Video can be a good fit if you live outside Modesto, have a full schedule, have limited transportation, or feel more at ease talking from home.
The Modesto office may suit you better if you don’t have a private space at home, or if you’d rather have the separation of going somewhere else to talk. The office is by appointment only.
You can talk this through in your free consultation.
Getting started
- Book a free 15-minute video consultation. There’s no commitment.
- Fill out the intake forms in the client portal.
- Meet for your first session by video.
- Decide together how often to meet.
Common questions
Can I switch between video and in-person sessions?
Ask about it in your free consultation. In-person sessions are at the office at 615 13th Street, Suite B4, Modesto, by appointment only.
Can I have video sessions in Spanish?
Yes. Video and in-person sessions are available in English or Spanish. Lea esta página en español.
Does insurance cover video sessions?
Many plans cover video visits, but coverage depends on your plan. Call the member services number on your insurance card and ask. The fees and insurance page lists the questions to ask.
Do you see couples, families, or teens by video?
No. Therapy here is for individual adults, 18 and older.
What if I need help right now?
Please don’t wait for a consultation. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available in Spanish), or call 911 if you are in immediate danger.
If you pay for sessions yourself, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of your costs. We send one when you schedule, and you can ask anytime.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of health care coverage or who are not using certain types of health care coverage an estimate of their bill for health care items and services before those items or services are provided.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate and the bill.
